I'm intrigued! Speculative fiction is my thing: I'm in. Out of curiosity, what will the chapter length be? I've seen a lot of debate on here about what makes a good-length instalment - which seems to be between 1k and 2k, but I'm tempted to think it's longer.
That is a great question and something I'll have to consider. I wrote this with traditional publication in mind, and my chapters likely fall between 1.5 and 2k. The entire manuscript is ~75k.
I think 1.5 to 2k sounds pretty good. I wrote mine with trad pub also in mind, but I have sections/scenes that make up each chapter, so some wiggle room. I think it partly depends on how you envisage people "consuming" it. If you estimate a reading speed of 200 to 250 words per minute, then 2k is 8 to 10 minutes - a good length to read over breakfast, on a work break, etc. Anything longer suggests more immersion - which may be right for you (I'm starting to think it may be right for me).

Looking forward to it.
